Instant Payout FAQs

Receive instant payouts for a 2% fee.

Instant payouts are the fastest way to receive your pay, and are designed to reach your account within 90-minutes but usually arrive instantly.

What are instant payouts?

Instant payouts are an optional service on VGCM that is the fastest way to receive funds from your payers. Payments typically in minutes delivered via an available instant payment service network such as push-to-card (PTC) or Real-Time Payments (RTP.)

Note: An instant payout is only available after your invoice has been processed for payout by your client. This includes invoices in the "Awaiting Client" status or those approved for the next payroll cycle by your client, but whose next payroll is still upcoming.

The Wingspan debit card should not be used for instant payouts. Instead, default the Wingspan Wallet directly.


How long does it take to receive an instant payout?

You can request an instant payout any day or time, including weekends and holidays. Instant payouts are designed to reach your account within the same hour, but please note that the actual time it takes for the funds to be available in your account can vary depending on the policies and processing times of your financial institution.

  • Typical Processing Time: Most payouts are completed within an hour.

  • Maximum Processing Time: In some cases, it may take up to 24 business hours for the funds to be available in your account. This is the exception, not the norm.

  • Factors Affecting Payout Time: The processing times of your bank or financial institution may affect how quickly you receive your funds.

  • Payout Rejections: If your receiving institution rejects your payout, your receipt of it will be delayed.

How do I request an instant payout?

There are three ways to request an instant payout: through the confirmation email, directly on your Invoices dashboard, or setting it as your default payout method.

Email Confirmation

  • Once you are paid, you will receive an email confirming the payment amount from your client. Click Request instant deposit, and you'll be taken to your account to confirm your request:

  • In the popup window, the details of the invoice will be shown, along with the Instant payout fee and your final Instant payout amount. If you would like to make instant payouts the default for all payments going forward, you can click the check box below the payment details.

  • To finalize the instant payout, click the Confirm instant payout request button.


Invoices Dashboard

  1. Navigate to Get Paid in the left-hand panel and select Invoices to access your Invoices dashboard. There, click on the invoice you'd like to request instant payout for.

  2. If the invoice has been paid and is eligible for instant payout, you'll see the Request instant payout button:

  3. In the popup window, the details of the invoice will be shown, along with the Instant payout fee and your final Instant payout amount. If you would like to make instant payouts the default for all payments going forward, you can click the check box below the payment details. To finalize the instant payout, click the Confirm instant payout request button.

Default Payout Method

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand panel and select Payout & Payment Methods.

  2. Ensure one of the options listed under Instant payout methods is set as your default:


How much do instant payouts cost?

There is a 2% fee for instant payouts, with a minimum of $0.50.


Who is eligible for instant payouts?

Instant payouts only work with US-based bank accounts or debit cards that participate in instant transfer services. Find out if your bank account or card is eligible by adding it as a payout method. Once added, eligible accounts will appear under instant payout methods.


What are common reasons why an instant payout would fail?

Instant payouts only work with U.S. bank accounts or Visa/Mastercard debit cards that participate in instant payout services.

  1. Limits imposed by your bank regarding:

    1. Transaction amount.

    2. Transaction frequency.

  2. Credit/debit card network issues.

  3. Bank suspicions of suspicious activity.

  4. Real-time payments (RTP) network availability.

  5. Wingspan service disruptions.

Our support team isn't able to override instant payout rejections by your bank. Some banks do not provide an error message for their rejections.

Note: Please note that the 2% fee for instant payouts are non-refundable if your bank or card provider rejects the payment.



What is the policy on refunding a fee for late instant payouts?

Most instant payouts process within minutes. While VGCM strives to address unforeseen operational issues promptly, some delays may require banking services to resolve. A refund may be owed to you under certain circumstances.
