Updating Your Account Information

A quick guide to updating your account information, taxpayer information, and personal/business information.

To update your account information—such as your name, phone number, or account type (business or individual) details—simply navigate to the Settings section located in the left-hand panel of your Velocity Global Contractor Management account. Within the Settings drop-down menu, you'll see Account Settings.


Account information

All account-related information is conveniently located in the Account tab. This includes your sign-in email, password, and the phone number used for verification.


If you need to update any of these details, simply click Edit next to the relevant option. You'll be guided through our secure verification process to complete the update. If you have any trouble with this, you can reach out to support.


Personal info and/or Business info

The second tab in your account settings will display as either Personal Information or Business Information, depending on your account type. This section includes your Taxpayer Information as well as your associated personal or business details.


Taxpayer information

Your Taxpayer information lives under the second tab, which will be either Personal or Business information.

If you need to update your taxpayer information:
1. Select Request update on the far right of Taxpayer information.

2. Follow along with the prompts, and select the options that pertain to your situation.

3. At the bottom of the page, use the provided text box to include all necessary details about the update you need. Be as specific as possible. Include the specifics of the necessary updated and what you are looking to achieve and any other relevant information about the changes you are requesting.

For example, you'd provide the new LLC's name (including the state) if you were changing to an LLC or changing the name of the LLC, or you would provide the new EIN number that you need on file.

3. Finally, you'll review everything and submit.

Please note: If the effective date occurs mid-year and the TIN changes, the system may generate multiple 1099-NEC forms (one for each applicable period).


Personal information

If you need to update personal information— such as your preferred name, business website, personal address, or date of birth—, you can select Edit next to the relevant option. You'll then be guided through our secure verification process to complete the update.


Note: If you need to update your Contact info, this can be updated under the Account tab, and those instructions can be found here.

Business information

To update your business information— such as your "Doing Business As" (DBA) name, business phone number, address, support email, website, and more—, simply select Edit next to the relevant option. You'll be guided through our secure verification process to complete the update.



Representative information

This section will only appear below "Business information" if you are currently registered as a business entity, not as an individual.


If you need to update any information about your representative, please contact our Support Team. Provide them with the current details and specify what needs to be changed. Once they have gathered all the necessary information, they will submit the request on your behalf.
